8. Advertising and consent

TRADEFOOX uses first-party advertising (campaigns you book with us) and Google AdMob in the Android and iOS apps. Optional advertising and measurement require appropriate consent where the law requires it.
TRADEFOOX campaigns
Sponsored campaigns in the feed, marketplace or other surfaces are operated by TRADEFOOX. We may measure impressions and clicks to bill advertisers and improve relevance. This is separate from Google AdMob.
Google AdMob and mobile advertising
We use Google AdMob, the Google Mobile Ads SDK and the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK in our mobile apps. Google’s certified consent-management solution configures the consent message; UMP is the SDK used to display and manage that message—it is not the certified CMP itself.
  • Ad formats may include native and banner advertisements
  • Ads may be personalized, non-personalized or limited depending on your consent choices under TCF 2.3
  • If you reject consent where it is required, we do not show Google ads in the app
  • Google may process IP address, approximate location, device and app information, Android Advertising ID, ad impressions and interactions, and diagnostic or performance data
  • We do not request Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT) or use the iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) in the initial release
  • Purposes include ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and security
  • Google acts as an independent recipient; data may be transferred internationally subject to appropriate safeguards
  • We do not load production ads until consent status permits it
  • Consent for personalized advertising under TCF 2.3 is purpose-specific; consent to one purpose does not cover all personalized advertising purposes
  • Diagnostic events related to advertising may be processed by TRADEFOOX or Sentry for troubleshooting; we do not sell your personal data
How consent works
  • Where required, we request consent through UMP before requesting production Google ads
  • On the website, you can manage cookie preferences through our cookie banner and policy
  • In the mobile apps, you can change or withdraw advertising consent choices in the in-app privacy settings
  • Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal
  • Rejecting required consent means no Google ads, not merely limited ads
  • Continued use of the app alone is not treated as advertising consent
  • Production Google advertising is loaded only when consent status permits it
You can change or withdraw advertising consent at any time using the controls described above.
Google information

9. International data transfers

We process data primarily in the European Union and European Economic Area. Where service providers (for example Google, Stripe, PayPal, Sentry or HubSpot) process data outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or other mechanisms recognized under applicable law, unless an adequacy decision applies.

10. Retention and deletion

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law:
  • Account and profile data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle disputes or legal claims
  • Content you publish may remain visible until you delete it or close your account, subject to backups and legal retention
  • Payment and transaction records for as long as required under tax and accounting rules
  • Logs, security and diagnostic data for limited periods appropriate to the purpose (Sentry retention settings apply)
  • After account deletion, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period unless retention is legally required

11. Data-subject rights

Depending on applicable law (including the GDPR), you may have the right to:
  • Access the personal data we process about you
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erase data where legal requirements are met
  • Restrict processing in certain cases
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Data portability for data you provided in a structured format
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You can update much of your profile data in account settings. For other requests, contact datenschutz@tradefoox.com.

12. Children and minimum age

TRADEFOOX is not directed at children under 16. You must be at least 16 years old to register and use our services, or older if your local law requires a higher age without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided data to us, contact datenschutz@tradefoox.com.

13. Cookies, SDKs and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies on the website and software development kits (SDKs) in our apps. Details are in our cookie policy, including website cookies (session, preferences, analytics where consented), Sentry, Google Mobile Ads and UMP, and mobile SDKs such as Gamezop.

14. Automated decisions, recommendations and profiling

We use algorithms to rank feeds, suggest content, match marketplace listings and display relevant campaigns. These processes support our services and are not solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects unless we inform you otherwise. You can report content and contact us if you have concerns. Human review is involved in moderation and many enforcement actions.

15. Data security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including:
  • Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) for data transmission
  • Access controls and monitoring for our systems
  • Regular review and improvement of our security practices

16. Supervisory authority and contact

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For users in Saxony, Germany, the competent authority is typically the Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte. You may also contact any authority in your country of residence or work.
